The program began in Athens at the historic Zappeion, where guests were welcomed to a Welcome Dinner inspired by Ancient Greece and the Olympic Games. Greeted by priestesses and Olympic drummers, attendees enjoyed a ceremonial dance during the cocktail hour, followed by a dazzling show of drummers and violin performers amidst an ambiance of olive trees, gold amphoras, and lanterns. The next evening featured a Colorful Awards Dinner at the Vorres Museum, with an elegant setup for the awards ceremony. Guests were treated to a mesmerizing violin performance on the red carpet and a night of vibrant décor and lively music by the renowned band Prestige. On Day 4, guests experienced a true Traditional Greek Party at Ble Pavillon. They were welcomed by strolling musicians, created their own komboloi as souvenirs, and indulged in Greek delicacies such as glyko tou koutaliou and authentic Greek coffee. Entertainment included caricature portraits, traditional Greek dances like Zorba the Greek, and the iconic plate breaking. The group then moved to Crete, where a Cretan Welcome Night at Daios Cove Tavern introduced guests to the enchanting sounds of the lyra, a traditional Cretan string instrument. The experience continued with a vibrant Mamma Mia Theme Night at Cristinis Tavern, inspired by the beloved movie, featuring colorful accessories, disco balls, and joyous dancing. The program concluded with a sophisticated Closing Event at Daios Cove, where guests were serenaded by a Jazz Duet, providing the perfect end to an extraordinary journey. The program, held from 12 to 19 April 2023, combined the rich history of Athens with the serene beauty of Crete, offering 220 attendees a seamless blend of recognition, entertainment, and cultural immersion. The journey began in Athens with a Welcome Dinner at the iconic Zappeion. Guests were greeted by Ancient priestesses and Olympic drummers, setting the stage for a unique dining experience inspired by the grandeur of Ancient Greece. The evening featured a ceremonial dance during the welcome cocktail, followed by a dazzling performance of drummers and violins. The venue was adorned with olive trees, gold amphoras, and lanterns, creating an ambiance of timeless elegance. On the second night, the group gathered at the Vorres Museum for a Colorful Awards Night. The evening began with a stunning red carpet violin performance as guests arrived. Inside, a vibrant dinner setup awaited, culminating in an awards ceremony celebrating Horace Mann’s top achievers. The evening ended on a high note with guests dancing to live music by the renowned band Prestige. On Day 4, a Traditional Greek Party at Ble Pavillon brought Athens to a festive close.
